Cannabinoid Benefits for CBD, CBG, CBN, and CBC

So what are Cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are active chemical compounds found naturally in the seeds, stalk and flowers of cannabis and hemp plants. Over 60 types of cannabinoids have been identified, but two main types have been studied.

Cannabidiol, which is commonly known as CBD and Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly known as THC. Further research has now given light to other Cannabinoids like CBG, CBN and CBC showing their benefits as well.

As it turns out…

The human body has its own cannabinoid system known as the endocannabinoid system. This is where the brain and immune system produce cannabinoids. These cannabinoids bind to the body’s receptors known as CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are widely distributed, but are particularly abundant in areas of the brain; including those concerned with movement, coordination, pain and sensory perception, emotion, memory, cognition, autonomic, and endocrine functions.

CB2 receptors are found mostly in the immune system and can reduce inflammation and certain kinds of pain. Although cannabinoids all have similar structures, they display a wide array of actions at each of the different receptors.

Research is beginning to show that CBD is different than other well-studied cannabinoids. All cannabinoids act as ligands; meaning they dock onto the binding site of a protein and have the ability to modulate a receptor’s behavior.

This is why CBD and other Cannabinoids show they can help us to a future of non narcotic treatment. Since our body and cannabinoids are similar, it makes it easier for them to bind together and help with pain management and much more!
